Anna Maria’s Cafe in the Lacombe Memorial Centre is back after shutting it’s doors in February. for renovation.

“We now have almost the double the space. We also have our own dishwasher and some additional kitchen equipment, along with new furniture. It has been nice,” Operator Lori Anderson said.

Anderson said guests have already noticed the difference and the extra space and added kitchen space and equipment has been a big boost for the staff.

“Before we had all of storage on the other side of the building, and now we have everything over here. For us, we don’t have to run across the building for anything anymore and we are able to now offer more hours for people here,” she said.

Anderson said they haven’t changed their menu yet, but that is definitely a possibility for the future.

“We haven’t at this point because it is post COVID-19, so we weren’t sure how busy we were going to be. We do have the potential to do that for sure,” she said.

Guests have noticed the difference, with many commenting how how much bigger and brighter the space is.

“We have had a lot of people come in and enjoy the space and say how glad they are we are back,” she said.

Currently, the cafe is operating under public health guidelines.

“We are at half capacity and everything is marked on the floor. Our tables are six feet apart and there is hand sanitizer at the door. We are currently packing everything to go to ensure everything is covered and we also have signage. We are sanitizing and cleaning the tables more often and we are cleaning the debit machine after every customer. We also have a Plexiglas screen in front of the till,” Anderson said.

She added, “People are really enjoying it and that is the main thing.”
