Lacombe Police Service conduct successful traffic stop

A Sylvan Lake woman has been charged with a number of offences

On the 23rd of March at approximately 2:00 am Lacombe Police members were conducting a Provincial Check stop on 50th avenue when a vehicle was observed to actively avoid the check stop location and turn onto a service road.

Police located the vehicle and a roadside traffic stop was conducted.

Two females were located in the vehicle and the driver was found to have a suspended drivers licence and the passenger was breaching court conditions that she was currently under.

Police located a large amount of mail in the vehicle and as a result of further investigation the passenger of the vehicle has been charged with numerous offences under the Criminal code.

Nicole Rae ARMSTRONG (32yrs) from Sylvan Lake, Alberta has been charged with the following offences:

- Possession of stolen property – Seventeen (17)counts

- Possession of Break in instruments – One (1) count

- Unauthorized Possession of Credit Card data– One (1) count

- Breach of Court conditions – Two (2) count

ARMSTONG was subsequently released from custody on an undertaking with her next court appearance scheduled for May 9th in Red Deer Provincial Court.

" This investigation is ongoing as we still have numerous pieces of mail and other items that have been recovered and the owners need to be identified and contacted" stated Lacombe Police Chief Lorne Blumhagen.
