Red Deer RCMP are investigating a home invasion in the Eastview neighbourhood early this morning, in which two armed men entered a home and stole cash and a cell phone then stole a Jeep belonging to one of the residents.

RCMP responded to the home invasion report shortly after 2 am on January 24, and determined that two men entered the home carrying a sawed off shotgun and a knife, demanding cash, the victim’s cell phone, and the keys to his vehicle.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The stolen 2015 silver and black Jeep Wrangler has an Alberta license plate BVT 8501 and was last seen driving southbound on 40 Avenue.

Suspect #1 is described as Caucasian, 6’2” – 6’4” tall with a heavy set build. He was wearing a bandana over his face and a dark jacket with the hood up and carrying an old-looking sawed off shotgun with fabric tape on the handle.

The second suspect was described as smaller than his companion, carrying a knife with a brown handle.

At this point in the investigation, RCMP believe this was a targeted robbery. Police continue to investigate.
