On June 10 the Lacombe Rotary Lobster Dinner will return.

Since its inception in 1985 the Lacombe Rotary Lobster Dinner has become a favourite community event. It had been held at the Lacombe Memorial Centre (LMC) for 35 years with a fancy meal, silent and live auctions, and entertainment. But in 2020, the event was cancelled due to COVID. Last year, Lacombe Rotarians revived the lobster dinner as a drive-thru.

This year the event will be in a similar format with the option of Lobster-in-the-park.

The club said that like last year, Rotary supporters can purchase tickets on Eventbrite for the pickup time that best fits their schedule. Pick-up times are in 15-minute time slots.

Ticket holders arrive at their pick-up time on the day of the dinner and take their meals home or park and walk into the LMC park for a community picnic. The club will provide tables, chairs, and a cash bar for attendees to enjoy their meals.

The Rotary Club of Lacombe offers several programs for local youth including scholarships and fully sponsored youth leadership events across Canada. They also organize the annual Lacombe Rotary Christmas Carol Festival, the annual Food Bank Stuff-a-Trailer food drive, and other community events and projects.

The Lobster dinner has also helped Rotarians support international projects like their recent purchase of multiple Shelterboxes for Ukraine, through Rotary fundraising and generous donations from Rotary supporters.

Tickets are $65 plus the Eventbrite service fee and can be purchased on Eventbrite or lacomberotary.ca.
