The Bentley Municipal Library has partnered with The Boho Apothecary and Studio to bring a new type of learning to Bentley.

Beginning March 1, every Tuesday children five and under will be able to attend school outdoors through Nature Skool.

Dawn Derrien, with The Boho Apothecary and Studio, will be leading the young students and their caregivers through a variety of outdoor activities.

“We have a focus on wildcrafted play for the wholehearted child,” she said, adding that the classes will be tailored around a different theme each month including, weather, life cycles, mini beasts and Earth.”

The program is for five and under and is a co-learning program, which means caregivers take part and have fun as well.

“Nature play allows children to engage in hands-on learning while getting fresh air and being active with their peers. It also allows them to emotionally connect and develop an appreciation of the beauty of nature. “Nature Skool” encourages them to “take risks” in a controlled and safe environment which leads to greater confidence and secure children,” said Derrien.

It starts March 1 and will take place Tuesday afternoons from 1 p.m to 2:30 p.m. starting March 1, 2022. The deadline to register is Feb. 26, which you can do by calling the Bentley Municipal library at (403) 748-4626.
