Prayer Breakfast features Ian Hill

The 2014 Lacombe Leadership Prayer Breakfast is the third edition of the annual Leadership Prayer Breakfast

The 2014 Lacombe Leadership Prayer Breakfast is the third edition of the annual Leadership Prayer Breakfast (formerly known as the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast) to honour and pray for leaders in the City of Lacombe.

This year’s event will be held on Feb. 20th at the Lacombe Memorial Centre.

As a community, organizers say they want to show support and appreciation for all the local officials and recognize the tasks they have in governing.

Guests of honour this year are Lacombe Mayor Steve Christie, Police Chief Steve Murray and Fire Chief Ed van Delden.

This year will have a special presentation by Ian Hill, an internationally-renowned speaker and consultant who will talk about how to build strong communities and also about how leaders play a crucial role in this process.

Hill has been working with Central Alberta communities over the past year with a leadership training program and he is excited about the many opportunities for growth in rural Alberta communities.

The Lacombe Ministerial Association is comprised of local church leaders and ministers with the purpose of mutual support, collaboration and sharing of ideas and stories that will equip its members for service in the community.

The annual leadership breakfast is a way to develop a sense of community and to encourage a dialogue about issues that affect everyone in the area, organizers say.

Tickets are $25 and can be ordered online at www.lacombeprayerbreakfast.ca or by calling 403-782-2910 or 403-318-6721.
