Visitors to the Farm got to see this young Great Horned Owl as part of a hike during the Farm’s opening day events earlier this week.

This owl likely hatched in February and is not capable of flying yet, but has left the nest and can maneuver through the treetops by hopping from branch to branch with relative ease.

This stage of development in young owls is called ‘branching.’
