The Rotary Clubs of Lacombe will host the longest running community holiday event in Lacombe on December 3 and 4, the 64th Annual Lacombe Rotary Christmas Carol Festival.

Local choirs, bands, and musical groups will take the stage at the Lacombe Memorial Centre starting at 7 p.m. each night. Everyone is invited. Admission is free. Attendees are asked to bring donations of non-perishable food and/or money for the Lacombe and District Food Bank and Santa’s Anonymous Gifts for Teens respectively.

The Rotary Club of Lacombe Past President Bob Schindel also recently presented FCSS Executive Director Susan McDonald with a $2000 donation for the 2019 Christmas “Fill A Fridge” program.

Through that program Lacombe & District FCSS plans to help more than 600 individuals within our community to purchase food of their choice during the Christmas season. FCSS provides Fill a Fridge certificates to local area families facing financial hardship.

The certificates can be redeemed at local grocery stores in the City of Lacombe and Lacombe County. The program is unique in that it allows families to purchase their OWN food items and make choices that work for their family! Funds for the Rotary Club of Lacombe’s donation came from their annual Lobster Dinner held in June each year.
