Lacombe businesses and individuals are being encouraged to dig out the royal icing and red sprinkles and get to crafting.

The Lacombe & District Historical Society announced their annual Gingerbread House Decorating Contest on Nov. 5.

There is no limit to creativity, whether you purchase a house to get started or bake your own, use whatever you would like to decorate. The only rule is it must be edible.

The Lacombe & District Historical Society will be displaying the houses during the Light Up the Night Festival, in closed display cabinets at the Lacombe Performing Arts Centre (LPAC). Visitors will be able to vote for People’s Choice.

This year there is also a silent auction that will be held throughout the festival and will give bidders a chance to take home the houses as part of the auction.

Visitor’s checking out the houses and silent auction will also be entertained by Homegrown Theatre performances.

Contact Rosanna at LPAC, admin@lacombepac.com or Melissa with Lacombe & District Historical Society, lacombemuseum@gmail.com to get your name on the list.

Deadline to bring in houses is Nov. 24.
