Fourteen 4-H clubs in Central Alberta recently received grants from the FCC 4-H Club Fund.

With support from Farm Credit Canada (FCC), 201 4-H clubs across the country were granted up to $500 to support activities, from developing existing programs and hosting local events, to supporting volunteers and eliminating barriers to entry, such as American Sign Language (ASL) training for members.

Grant recipients in Central Alberta include Knee Hill Valley Beef Club, Noble Riders, Rangeland 4-H Beef Club and West Central Wranglers of Red Deer County; West Central 4-H Alumni and Central Lacombe Beef of Blackfalds; Lacombe 4-H Outsiders Club and Red Deer 4-H Horsemen of Lacombe; Ponoka 4-H Renegade Riders, Silver Valley 4-H Riders and West Ponoka 4-H Beef of Ponoka; Rosebrier 4-H Beef Club of Wetaskiwin; Northwest Stars 4-H Multi Club and Big West Cruizers of Drayton Valley.

“The FCC 4-H Club Fund supports volunteers across the country as they continue to build the next generation of leaders in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. We are grateful to FCC for its continued support," said 4-H Canada interim CEO, Hugh Maynard, in a statement.

Since its creation in 2013, the FCC 4-H Club Fund has contributed over $1 million in funding and supported more than 2,100 4-H clubs across Canada.

“4-H Canada exemplifies the character, hard work, and innovation that drives the success of Canada’s agriculture industry. We are grateful for the work 4-H does in providing exceptional programming to support the next generation of producers," said Justine Hendricks, FCC president and CEO.

“FCC is proud to support 4-H Canada and its programs, including through the FCC 4-H Club Fund."

Applications for the next round of funding will open in August 2025. For more information visit 4-h-canada.ca/club-fund.
