Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors and Innisfail-Sylvan Lake MLA Devin Dreeshen attended President Donald Trump's inauguration.

Minister Dreeshen is not attending the inauguration in an official capacity as a government representative but as a private citizen, the Press Secretary for the Hon. Dreeshen Husam Khalo said.

"He’s attending the Inauguration to support and reconnect with old friends."

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith went to Washington, D.C. for the inauguration in an official capacity.

However, due to the event being moved indoors, she was no longer able to attend the ceremony in person.

Instead, Smith planned to attend the event on Monday, Jan. 20 at the Canadian Embassy.
