Remains of missing Maskwacis teen found

Christopher Crier, missing since Oct. 1, 2022, has now been confirmed as deceased

After being missing for nearly two years, the remains of Christopher Crier were located in Maskwacis on June 24. 

Crier, was 16 years old when he was last seen at his residence in Samson Cree Nation on Oct. 1, 2022. 

RCMP said multiple searches were conducted for Crier and numerous inquiries were made. The initial investigation led police to believe Crier may have had plans to head to Edmonton.

The RCMP stated in a release on July 8, that the remains were taken to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner (CME) after the RCMP received a report of found human remains. The CME confirmed the remains belong to Crier. 

The RCMP expressed their "heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased."

RCMP advised the matter is still an active investigation and no further information is available at this time.
