Strong play continues in Draw 8 at Curling Alberta Women's Provincial Championship

Three dominant performances and a tight game highlighted draw 8 at the Curling Alberta Women's Provincial Championship in Rimbey. 

In the closest game of the night, Kayla Skrlik beat Gracelyn Richards 6-5, scoring a triple in the 10th end to earn the come-from-behind-victory. With the win, Skrlik earned a spot in the Page Playoff Saturday night against Robyn Silvernagle. Silvernagle has three straight wins this week, while Skrlik's side is 4-1. 

Michelle Hartwell earned a dominant 7-2 win over Elliot Martens to book a spot in the C Event qualifier Saturday morning. They'll square off against Janais DeJong, who won 10-1 over Keelie Duncan Friday night. 

Nicky Kaufman also downed Kayleigh Shannon 10-4 in eight ends. Kaufman will play Richards Saturday morning for a spot in the 3/4 page playoff game, which goes Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.

Draw 9 gets underway Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
