Sweet Home on the Lake will soon be re-opening after the business's sudden closure back in February.
Owners of the business Cody and Eva Borek are excited to be re-opening Sweet Home so that people can continue to enjoy the business's boutique and cafe.
"We've been working hard to ensure that our boutique is fully stocked with a fresh and exciting selection of clothing, accessories, and home goods that our customers love," Borek said.
"We're also bringing in some brand-new collections that we can't wait to share. In the cafe, we'll continue to serve our signature drinks and food, with some fun new menu additions to celebrate the re-opening."
The experience of announcing the closure, then finding a new investor and being able to reopen has been a whirlwind, Borek said.
"This journey has been full of challenges, but also incredible moments of resilience and support. Closing was difficult, but the overwhelming encouragement from our customers, community, and even other local businesses reminded us how much Sweet Home means to people."
"Finding the right investor was about ensuring we could continue serving Sylvan Lake in a sustainable way, and we're grateful to have that opportunity now," he added.
While closed, many local businesses in communities where Sweet Home had locations stepped forward by allowing Sweet Home customers to use their gift cards there.
Some of the businesses that stepped forward and offered support to Sweet Home customers who were left with unused gift cards were White Frog Cafe, Lakeshore Cafe, Saving Grace Animal Society, and Spotted Gecko Clothing.
The incredible generosity of the local businesses who stepped up to support customers is very touching, Borek said.
"Community is everything to us, and we absolutely want to find a meaningful way to show our appreciation. We're looking at some creative ways to say thank you and will be sharing details soon."
When the business re-opens on March 18 returning customers can also expect to see some familiar faces.
"We're thrilled that most of our previous team members are returning. Our team is what makes Sweet Home so special, and it's been amazing to reconnect with familiar faces who are just as excited about the re-opening as we are," Borek said.
"We're also welcoming new team members who bring fresh energy and passion to our business."
In addition to Sweet Home on the Lake, the Boreks will reopen their Stettler location, Sweet Home on Main, on the same day.
"We can't wait to welcome everyone back into a space that feels like home. We invite the whole community to come celebrate this new chapter with us."
