The Lacombe Performing Arts Centre has partnered with Lacombe Ford again to run the third annual #FordTheArts scholarship to be awarded to youth in art programming in the community.

“We are excited to support the arts in the community with the help of Lacombe Ford,” said Rosanna Kerekes, executive director of Lacombe Performing Arts Centre (LPAC).

“Not only does it financially support the recipients of the scholarships, increasing the viability of their long-term success while supporting the programs; but it will also give the opportunity to showcase what is available to youth in Lacombe for arts programming.”

Arts programming can include anything from visual, literary, and performing arts including music, dance, and drama.

The scholarship will consist of two individual awards, paid to the instructor/program to cover up to $500 of costs each.

To be eligible, youth must be participating in community arts programming for 2024-2025, live in Lacombe (the arts program doesn’t specifically need to happen in Lacombe) or attend arts programming in Lacombe, and be under the age of 18.

“Our dealership team has always prioritized supporting kids and families in our community,” said Darren Gagnon, owner of Lacombe Ford.

“We believe opportunity should be available in any activity kids are involved whether academic, in sports, or in this case the arts.

“We look forward to helping LPAC to support youth development in the arts in our community for many years to come”.

The scholarship campaign will be accepting applications until May 31.

Application forms and requirements can be found at LacombePAC.com, under #FordTheArts Scholarship.

Winners will be selected by a panel of adjudicators and announced by the middle of June to receive their scholarship award at Music in the Park on June 26.

All entries will be shared on social media using the hashtag #FordTheArts to showcase arts programming.

Instructors and programmers are welcome to nominate children as well.
