There will be numerous activities for residents to participate in on Canada Day in Lacombe.
Canada Day festivities kick off in Lacombe at 11:30 a.m. with the Lacombe Legion's marching of the colours from the Lacombe Memorial Centre to the legion.
After the march, there will be a flag-raising ceremony and BBQ.
The City of Lacombe on Canada Day will also be offering an outdoor market, food trucks, family-friendly games, and an E-Sports Tournament at the Junior High School Field from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
At 8:30 p.m., live music will be featured at Cranna Lake with Alecia Aichelle and Tap9 performing; afterward, a fireworks show will take place around dusk.
In the case of inclement weather, some events will be moved indoors to the Gary Moe Auto Sportsplex in Arena 2.
As well, many museums will be open for Canada Day, including the Flatiron Building Museum, Michener House, and Blacksmith Museum.
Other than events taking place in Lacombe, the nearby Ellis Nature Centre will be offering a nature scavenger hunt, lawn games, face painting, a team adventure race, and a nature documentary showing starting at 11 a.m.
As well, nearby in the Town of Blackfalds there will be Canada Day celebrations featuring face painting, music, and refreshments at the Tayles Water Spray Park from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
