Cilantro and Chive in Lacombe gives back with Burger of the Month

Thanks to the community support, $1,012 was given to Boots On The Ground Alberta.

Cilantro and Chive in Lacombe supported first responders with the March Burger of the Month.

Jarrod Cohoe stepped up as a Guest Chef and provided the creative juices for 'The Joe' in memory of his former partner, a paramedic and volunteer firefighter who struggled with mental health challenges.

'The Joe' based around Joe's routine shift meal included two all-beef smash patties, two slices of jalapeno jack cheese, jalapeno back-bacon, spicy firecracker sauce, leaf lettuce, and firecracker aioli on a brioche bun.

From every burger sold, $2 went directly to Jarrod's cause of choice, the Alberta Division of Boots on the Ground (BOTG).

BOTG provides anonymous peer support through a helpline for first responders and military members, where when they call, they can receive trained peer support from people who were also first responders and military members.

BOTG is incredibly grateful for Jarrod's generosity, BOTG Alberta President Mo Fahad Shaukat said.

"Donations like this directly support our mission to provide 24/7 support for first responders and military members in Alberta. Every dollar helps us train volunteers, offer in-person support, and respond to calls from those in crisis, it truly helps save lives."

Thanks to the community support, $1,012 was given to BOTG Alberta.

Since starting the Burger of the Month program, Cilantro and Chive has given back over $180,000 to local charities.
