More than 65 professionals from sectors including law enforcement, victim services, and other support agencies recently gathered in Lacombe for a training program focused on combating family violence.

The event, which brought together experts locally and from surrounding areas, aimed to equip participants with skills and knowledge to better help domestic violence victims and their families.

This initiative was made possible through the support of Royal LePage Lifestyles Realty and its commitment to addressing domestic violence through its Shelter fund, according to a release from the Lacombe Police Service.

“Royal LePage Lifestyles Realty’s yearly contributions to the Lacombe Victim Services domestic violence fund have played a pivotal role in facilitating such essential educational programs as well as aiding many victims and families of domestic violence locally here in Lacombe.”

The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, established in 1998, stands as the largest public foundation in Canada solely dedicated to funding women’s shelters and initiatives aimed at preventing domestic violence.

The foundation has raised $46 million to date, supporting 200 local women’s shelters and national partners across Canada.

As a locally-owned company, Royal LePage Lifestyles Realty also supports the cause through donations generated from every real estate sale.

A portion of their commission also contributes to the Lacombe Victim Services Domestic Violence Fund.

Total donations have reached $132,000.

The success of the recent training underscores the significance of collaborative efforts between community stakeholders and corporate partners like Royal LePage Lifestyles Realty, noted the release.

“Together, we are not only raising awareness but also actively working towards ending the cycle of domestic violence and providing crucial support to those in need.”
