February's 'Burger of the Month' supports the Cross Cancer Institute

Proceeds from Cilantro and Chive's 'Burger of the Month' guest chef Aaron Heck are going to support the Cross Cancer Institute.

Heck helped to create 'Aaron’s One Heck of a Chicken Parm Burger' which was Cilantro's Burger of the Month. Two dollars from each burger sold went to his cause of choice - the Cross Cancer Institute.

“The Cross Cancer Institute has been an institution that has always been there for my family and friends," he said.

The institute, located in Edmonton, is a standalone multi-disciplinary and comprehensive cancer center delivering tertiary cancer services to northern and Central Alberta, portions of B.C., Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories.

In addition to medical treatment, the institute ensures patients and families are cared for and supported by providing psycho-social services, pastoral care, aboriginal navigation, drug access coordination and volunteer hours, noted a release.

Thanks to the support shown to Heck's burger of the month, $790 is going to the Cross Cancer Institute.

To date. the Burger of the Month program has raised $180,000 which has been given to local charities over the past 97 months.

Meanwhile, the March Burger of the Month at our Lacombe location is 'The Joe; created in collaboration with local guest chef Jarrod Cohoe.

Two dollars from every burger sold goes directly to his cause of choice - Boots on the Ground Peer Support for First Responders.
