Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS) has announced the appointment of Jill Chambers as the new assistant principal of Terrace Ridge School in Lacombe.

Chambers, bringing 14 years of experience in the education sector, transitions to Terrace Ridge School after her tenure at Iron Ridge Elementary School in Blackfalds.

“Jill is an exceptional educator whose expertise in early literacy and passion for inclusive education is a tremendous asset,” said Sonja Dykslag, assistant superintendent of people services.

“Her proven leadership abilities and innovative approaches to learning will greatly benefit our students, staff, and the wider school community. We are thrilled to welcome her to her new position.”

With a teaching career spanning Grades K to 6, she has exemplified a dedication to fostering early literacy and inclusion among students, according to a release.

Chambers looks forward to the opportunity in Lacombe.

“I am honored and excited to join the Terrace Ridge School community as the assistant principal,” said Chambers.

“I look forward to collaborating with the talented team of educators and staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment for our students. I am committed to building strong relationships within the school and the broader community to support the success and well-being of our students.”

Chambers’ appointment comes as Marica McWhinnie announced her retirement, effective April 1.
