Running for: Lacombe County Division 4 Councillor
Why do you want to serve on county council?
Having lived in the Lacombe area for twenty-nine years and the last twenty-one in Lacombe County, I have found this to be a wonderful community and a great place for me and my family to call home. I feel that aligning community, agriculture, business and government for the continued success of one the best counties in our province is a real opportunity that I would enjoy contributing to.
What do you feel you can bring to council?
Understanding that what is best for the county as a whole is how progress is maintained, I believe that I listen well (despite what my wife says), I appreciate the collaborative effort of a team to achieve goals and I bring a conservative economic view to the table.
What is your vision for the community/what are your priorities if you are elected?
If elected, my vision for Lacombe County is that of continuing on the successful path that other councilors before me have established. Priority number one will be getting to work tackling the learning curve of what is involved with being a county councilor, understanding municipal governance, and the administration of Lacombe County.
What if your professional experience and how do you feel it will lend itself to municipal government?
My professional experience over the last 15 years has been in managerial positions… managing up to 20 personnel. I believe that this is helpful in that one learns to work with and direct others for what is best for the group as a whole. My involvement over the years volunteering on executives with multiple community groups also has been a big influence on learning how to work collaboratively.
