Range of Christmas classics featured during the Rotary Carol Festival

A popular local holiday tradition that stretches back several decades, the Lacombe Rotary Carol Festival ran Dec. 3-4 at the Lacombe Memorial Centre.

The event has been running in the city for more than 65 years, organizers say.

Cash donations were accepted ($646.75) for Santa's Anonymous Gifts for teens, and food donations were also collected for the Lacombe Food Bank.

There was a wide range of performances and styles over the two evenings, including the Lacombe Lions Community Band, The Cats and the Fiddles, the Terrace Ridge School Choir, and the Singing Strings.

Other groups included Flat Iron Jazz, and the Grades 4 and 5 classes from the Lacombe Upper Elementary School (E.L.E.U.S.), along with the school's Music Club.
