Shelly Laliberte is joining the millionaires club after she scratched her WESTERN MILLION instant ticket and took home the top prize.
She purchased her ticket from Lacombe Husky at 5804 Hwy. 2A in Lacombe on Dec. 18 and discovered her win the same day.
“I scratched my ticket, then scanned it using the app,” she recalled as she claimed her prize.
“I was crying and shaking,” she continued. “I didn’t believe it!”
The winner has a few ideas for her windfall. “I’m going to pay off some debt, purchase a home and invest what’s left,” she explained. Laliberte was one of the last Albertan’s to claim a $1 million prize in 2022.
“It’s shocking! I felt like I was in a dream.”
