Alberta's Lieutenant Governor, Salma Lakhani, made a stop at Erskine School on June 2.
The Lt. Governor was at the school to meet with students and staff and tour classrooms.
Lakhani was able to address the Grade 4-9 students during her visit, "inspiring them with a message of hope, leadership, and civic responsibility."
"It was an unforgettable day filled with meaningful conversations, thoughtful questions, and a celebration of community," notes a release from Clearview Public Schools about the visit.
Lakhani also took time to meet with staff and took time to understand the learning going on at the school.
"We were so thrilled that Her Honour Lakhani could find time to visit our school to inspire and educate the future leaders of our great province and community," said Erskine School Principal Jeff Lee."Sharing the story of her personal journey to Canada and her recommendation to the office of Lieutenant Governor by former Prime Minister Harper was extremely informative for staff and students alike."
Another teacher, Celene Rajewski, also appreciated Lakhani's visit.
"Her Honour’s visit was a distinguished occasion that underscored the importance of education and democratic values in our province," he said. "Her thoughtful engagement with students encouraged them to reflect on their roles as future citizens and leaders.”
