Alberta RCMP Major Crimes investigating Stettler homicide

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation of an unexpected death in Stettler.

Around 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 25, officers from the Stettler RCMP detachment received a report from emergency medical services that they had responded to an unconscious male in an apartment.

On arrival, officers found the male dead with circumstances believed to be “suspicious.”

The Alberta Major Crimes Unit was called in to investigate.

As part of the investigation, the male was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary for an autopsy.

The autopsy is expected to be undertaken on Feb. 27.

RCMP officers are looking for information about this situation, and those with information are asked to call the Stettler detachment at 403-742-3381.
