Blackfalds RCMP execute search warrant, seize illegal drugs

In September, Blackfalds RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) launched a CDSA investigation in Red Deer.

On Sept. 30, 2021 Blackfalds RCMP GIS with the assistance of Blackfalds RCMP Detachment members, Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Ream (CRT), Red Deer RCMP Serious Crimes Branch and RCMP Police Dog Services, executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Highland Green in the City of Red Deer.

Police seized 2.5 ounces of Fentanyl, 23 grams of Methamphetamine, a quantity of morphine pills, five stolen bicycles, firearms and ammunition.

Kevin John Brown (52) of Red Deer is being charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of possession contrary to order.

Following a Judicial hearing, he was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Oct. 28, 2021.

Calvin Howard Brown (45) of Red Deer was arrested on outstanding warrants. He is also facing additional charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with release order.

Following a Judicial hearing, Calvin Brown was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Oct. 28, 2021.
