Blackfalds RCMP responded to a collision on Friday

One man was pronounced dead at the scene

On Friday Blackfalds RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 42.

The collision took place east of range road 275, near Penfold, Alta at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 27.

The investigation so far has shown that a westbound grain truck collided with a semi-tractor trailer unit that was moving southbound.

The driver of the grain truck, a 46-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-tractor trailer unit was not injured.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and no further updates are expected at this time.

Blackfalds RCMP has said they will not be releasing the name of the deceased man.
