The Blackfalds Christmas Bureau is challenging local businesses to get involved, get vocal and challenge others this year.

Starting Nov. 15 until Dec. 3, local businesses can register with Blackfalds FCSS as part of their Blackfalds Xmas Challenge and begin collecting non-perishable food items and gift cards.

Utilizing social media and the #Blackfaldsxmas business are also able to challenge and invite other business to get involved.

“We look forward to a lot of friendly competition between our fabulous Blackfalds business community and can’t wait to follow the fun through #blackfaldsxmas,” says FCSS Manager, Sue Bornn.

This year, Blackfalds Christmas Bureau, Blackfalds Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), Blackfalds Food Bank Society and Blackfalds Fire Department are joining forces to coordinate the drive. Annually, the Blackfalds Christmas Bureau supports over 100 families, including over 300 children, to provide gift cards and festive food hampers to ensure that every child gets a gift on Christmas.

With the ongoing pandemic response continuing to depress the economy and affect many of our Blackfalds families, the need this year is greater than ever.

Forms are available at blackfalds.ca with eligibility information included and questions regarding the program can be directed to Blackfalds FCSS at 403-600-9066.
