Effective July 1st, the Town of Blackfalds will be implementing changes regarding the weekly residential garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup days.
This new collection schedule, which is detailed below, can be viewed online at the Town’s web site at www.blackfalds.com.
As of July 1st, east side collection north of Panorama Dr. will be on Tuesday and the west side collection north of Westbrook Rd. will be on Wednesday; west side pickup north of the railway tracks, but south of Westbrook Rd. as well as the area south of the railway tracks will be on Thursday and downtown Blackfalds and the east side area that is south of Panorama Dr. will be on Friday.
This past April, the Town of Blackfalds passed its new solid waste management bylaw. Under the new bylaw, waste will eventually be collected through automatic collection bins instead of being manually collected as it has been previously. Council heard other municipalities are adopting this method of collection.
