City of Lacombe warns of possible telephone scam

Scam displays as the “Town of Lacombe” on telephone caller ID displays

The City of Lacombe is alerting residents of a possible phone scam that displays as the “Town of Lacombe” on telephone caller ID displays, with an automated message pronouncing Lacombe as “Lacomb-ee” offering zero per cent interest rates on payments.

Please note that this is not the City of Lacombe. We will never contact citizens to make such offers or solicit personal information over the phone.

Please exercise caution when answering suspicious telephone calls, and avoid providing any personal or banking information over the phone.

The Lacombe Police Service has been made aware of the situation. If you receive a suspicious call, pleasecontact Lacombe Police at 403.782.3279.
