Flatiron Gallery opens this weekend

Final touches are being done as the Lacombe & District Historical Society prepares for the opening of the Flatiron Building Gallery this weekend.

Coupling the Lacombe & District Historical Society’s artifacts and photographs by Ben Cameron with three black and white photographic exhibits from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

There will be 70 works of arts on display in the gallery, featuring Life Lit Up, In the Moment and Arthur Nishimura: Mystical Landscapes.

The silent auction, featuring items donated by local artisans and businesses has been moved online visit lacombemuseum.com for further information closer to auction day.

Earlier this year it was announced that the society would be moving into the building.

The Flatiron Building Museum and four current exhibits will be open Tuesdays to Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 28 through Oct 24.

The grand opening is paired with the Culture & Harvest Festival. Throughout the weekend, demos and tours will be offered at other historical sites around Lacombe.
