Every community deserves to be celebrated, and July’s Burger of the Month guest chef was keen to dedicate funds raised to support the hard work of a group of volunteers behind Lacombe Days.

Jess Zylstra provided the creative juices for ‘Jess’ Lacombe Days Burger’.

Two dollars from every burger sold is going directly to Jess’s cause of choice, the Lacombe Days Association.

Lacombe Days is an annual community-wide celebration that falls on the third weekend in July, with events for the whole family showcasing everything Lacombe has to offer including street markets, outdoor art opportunities, a parade, show and shine, live music, children’s entertainers, free barbecues, pancake breakfasts and much more.

For Zylstra, Lacombe Days is more than just a festival.

“I love the strong sense of community that the weekend brings. Seeing neighbours waving to each other at the parade, friends and families meeting each other at events, businesses thriving, and volunteers giving their time. All these and more make Lacombe Days special.”

Then add that the whole weekend is planned by a small team of volunteers and one part-time staff member and it brings the community spirit to a whole new level.

Lacombe Days is sponsored by local businesses and grants which means that every dollar counts.

“I love that the whole point of Lacombe Days is to have a safe, inclusive, fun weekend for everyone in town. Lacombe Days just highlights how amazing our community is and I love that for us.”

Thanks to your support of the Burger of the Month Program Zylstra helped staff to deliver $1,480 to the Lacombe Days Planning Committee on Aug. 4th.

Thanks to the amazing support we see from

Staff have had the opportunity to give back over $135,000 to local charities over the past 78 months.

The August Burger of the Month at the Lacombe location is the ‘Pickle Chicken Mac’, created in collaboration with local Guest Chef Arnold Foster.

It’s a breaded chicken breast, frickles, and macaroni covered in our house-made cheese sauce, dill ranch, and sliced pickles on a garlic-buttered brioche bun.

Two dollars from every burger sold goes directly to Foster’s cause of choice, the Smiles Thru Lindsay Foundation.
