Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lacombe and District (BBBS) has wrapped up their 2021 Christmas Kindness Campaign in a year that was deemed ‘exceptional’ by their executive director.

“The Festival of Wreaths fundraiser celebrated its 11th year in record breaking form,” said Brianna Berthiaume, Executive Director of BBBS. “So much creativity and generosity has been put into the wreaths with 63 businesses stepping up to design.”

She said the Festival of Wreaths fundraiser raised $13,245, all of which goes directly back into Lacombe and Blackfalds mentoring programs.

The Adopt a Family program has also come to a close. Through the program, donors were matched up with local families that are also involved with BBBS and given the opportunity to buy food and gift hampers for the families.

This year, 39 families were adopted by community businesses and citizens this year.
