A Lacombe County man has been charged following a police incident on Hwy 2A on Sunday evening.
Just after 6 p.m. on Sunday, RCMP closed Highway 2A south of Lacombe and began diverting traffic south of Lacombe (near Range Road 270A), following a fire-arms related complaint.
Red Deer RCMP, the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Lacombe Police Service all responded to the incident.
A 39-year-old male suspect from Lacombe County, was taken into custody and roadblocks in the area were removed around 8 p.m.. He has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault.
The suspect is in custody awaiting a judicial hearing.
