It was announced on Monday that Paula Law was re-elected by Lacombe Country council to serve her eighth term as Reeve.
As Reeve, Law is the chief elected official of the county council and serves as the spokesperson for the council among other duties. This re-election marks her 10th year serving on council.
“I’m incredibly honoured for the appointment,” said Law.
Law, who has lived in the county her whole life, first ran for Lacombe County Council in 2010 while also running a farming operation and trucking business.
Her first campaign involved going door-to-door and introducing herself to the local community. This allowed Law to meet residents and learn what concerns or issues they had about their community.
“It was a lot of work and it was a lot of time but it was extremely beneficial,” said Law.
During her 2020-2021 term as Reeve, Law plans to carry-on advocating for her constituents.
“I will continue to speak up for residents in the Central Alberta region, federally, provincially and municipally,” said Law.
