Lacombe man charged after weekend stabbing

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward

A 22-year-old Lacombe man is facing charges after a stabbing on Saturday morning. The stabbing left one man in hospital with serious injuries.

In the early morning hours of on Oct. 24 an altercation occurred at a local hotel between two men who, police say, are known to each other.

The altercation escalated and resulted in a 35-year-old man being sent to Red Deer Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Lacombe Police Service (LPS) reports the man is now in stable condition.

A 22-year-old man from Lacombe is charged with aggravated assault and mischief as a result of the altercation.

LPS said this was an isolated incident and there is no current risk to the public.
