A quick trip to the drug store has left a local man with some extra spending money.
Robert Popick is one of Alberta’s newest EXTRA winners. The Lacombe local claimed the game’s top prize of $250,000 after he purchased the LOTTO MAX and EXTRA ticket from the Lacombe Rexall and returned to the store shortly after the draw to check his ticket.
“I was pretty surprised,” he said while claiming his prize. “I had to scan my ticket a second time before I started believing it.”
The winner said he has no concrete plans for his windfall yet bu would like to take a vacation sometime soon and put the rest into savings.
Popick secured his winnings by matching all seven digits drawn on the January 28 draw.
