Lacombe Police arrest suspected car thief after short foot pursuit

On April 10, 2020, a member of the Lacombe Police Service observed a black Ford F350 broken down in the intersection of 58 Street and 50 Avenue, in Lacombe.

The lone male occupant of the truck was observed attempting to refill the gas tank. Further investigation found the truck had been stolen from a residence in Lacombe County on April 3, 2020.

When Police attempted to arrest the male, he failed to comply with the officer’s demands. A short foot pursuit ensued and the male was arrested without incident.

Lester Martin, 34, of Bentley, Alberta has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00 – 1 (one) Count
  • Possession of break in instruments – 1 (one) Count
  • Resist/obstruct peace officer – 1 (one) Count

Martin is scheduled to attend Red Deer Provincial Court on July 14, 2020.
