The Lacombe Police Service would like to remind motorists to be vigilant when school busses are on the road.

Repeated incidents of motorists failing to stop and passing school busses illegally have increased.

School busses cannot be passed from either direction when red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended. The fine for such an action will cost you $543.00 and 6 demerits.

“The Lacombe Police will be targeting offences in regards to school busses in the coming weeks”, states Constable Vaughan Bleasdale. “The safety of our children is everyone’s responsibility, we are asking that motorists watch for school busses, and more importantly children getting on and off, as children are not always watching for traffic”
