Lacombe Police respond to alarm at LA Carpet and Tile

Video footage was obtained, a black dodge Caravan was observed with a lone male occupant

On February 25, 2020, The Lacombe Police responded to an alarm at LA Carpet and Tile. Police arrived on scene and observed forced entry made into the business. A search of the premise was conducted and no one was located at that time.

Video footage was obtained and a black dodge Caravan was observed with a lone male occupant. The male is seen throwing a rock through a window before entering the business. He attempts to enter another SUV parked in the lot but is unsuccessful and is last seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed before police arrive on scene.

The Lacombe Police were able to locate the vehicle with the male occupant parked south of Lacombe on highway 2a. After subsequent investigation it was determined that the vehicle and plate attached had been stolen from the Red Deer area. The male was identified as the same person seen in the video footage.

Tyren Michael FIELD, 22, of Red Deer was charged with the following offences:

  • Break and enter to a business – One (1) count
  • Resist/obstruct peace officer – One (1) count
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00 – One (1) count
  • Possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000.00 – Two (2) counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order – Two (2) counts
