Lacombe Police Service arrest one, recover stolen property

The Lacombe Police Service made an arrest and recovered stolen property on July 21.

At around 10:30 p.m. Lacombe Police Service Members located a a stolen Polaris RZR in the English Estates Centre parking lot, located just off of Highway 2A in Lacombe.

As police members approached in their police vehicle, the Polaris fled at high speed after colliding with the police vehicle. The police vehicle was damaged in the process, but remain drive-able, and maintained pursuit.

Police followed the stolen vehicle into the area around Elizabeth Lake, where it became stuck, and police members were able to make an arrest.

Chad Everett Davidson, 47, of Ponoka, Alta., was charged with:

-Disobeying an order of the court

-Resisting arrest

-Assaulting a peace office

-Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

-Fail to stop or remain at accident scene

-Flight from police

-Tampering with vehicle identification number

-Possession of stolen property

-Mischief of property

Davidson was also charged with a number of violations under other provincial acts.

Released on his own recognizance, Davidson has been summoned to Red Deer Provincial Court on Aug. 16.
