Nine combines harvested the 27th crop for the Central Alberta Foodgrains Project on Oct. 1.
A total of 2,495 bushels of canola were harvested from 58 acres in two hours. Another 1,335 bushels of canola were donated by a local farmer for a total of $82,604.
“Farmers can donate grain or canola to our project by designating a certain amount of bushels of their delivered crop at the elevator to the Central Alberta Foodgrains Project Rural and urban people can donate cash at any time of the year to our project to cover any of our expenses not covered by donations from farmers and agri-business,” noted a release.
“Money is sent to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank in Winnipeg where it is distributed to the greatest need in the world.”
