Open house coming soon for Inter-municipal development plan

Lacombe County and City of Lacombe seeking public feedback on Feb. 28th at LMC

  • Feb. 21, 2017 8:00 a.m.

The City of Lacombe/Lacombe County Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) process is close to completion. A draft of the IDP is now ready for review and the City of Lacombe and Lacombe County would like feedback from the public.

The public and the media are invited to attend an open house on Feb. 28th from 6:30 8:30 p.m. in the Lacombe County Room at the Lacombe Memorial Centre (5214-50 Ave).

This drop-in event will feature displays that provide an overview of the policies contained within the IDP, and will allow attendees to comment on the draft plan.

A formal presentation providing a summary of the IDP will begin at 7 p.m.

Engineers and project planners from Stantec Consulting Ltd., as well as County and City staff will be in attendance to provide information and answer questions regarding the project, prior to the draft IDP being presented to City and County councils for their consideration.

An IDP is a plan developed between neighbouring municipalities that has a set boundary.

The document outlines future land uses, policies and objectives which the municipalities have agreed upon. The plan helps establish policies for cooperation, development and land uses.
