Light up Lacombe is described as the type of event that captures all of the tradition, heritage, and charm of a good old-fashioned Christmas festival.
This year’s presenting sponsor was Stantec.
Highlights on opening night included Midnight Madness shopping, the Echo Energy Santa Claus Parade and the Tree Lighting Ceremony at the LMC.
The Lacombe Christmas Faire ran over the weekend at the LMC along with the Under $100 Art Market.
Other highlights included ‘Lift Someone into the Light’ at St. Andrew’s United Church, and fire dancers in the Lacombe Memorial Centre Courtyard.
Sponsored by Cilantro and Chive, the Breakfast with Santa was held on Nov. 27 at the LMC.
And right before Christmas, don’t miss the fireworks at Cranna Lale on Dec. 22.
Other events over the course of Light Up Lacombe included a Gingerbread House Decorating Contest, a Scandinavian Papercraft Workshop, a showing of the classic holiday film Polar Express, and Selfies with Santa.
I've been a part of the Black Press Media family for about a dozen years now, with stints at the Red Deer Express, the Stettler Independent, and now the Lacombe Express.
