Local residents are invited to a design charette to help develop the architectural design guidelines for Lacombe’s downtown area.
The design guidelines will help implement the vision identified in the Downtown Area Redevelopment & Urban Design Plan (DARP) approved by City council in January.
The architectural design guidelines will help to ensure that future development in the downtown area achieves quality design and is complementary to the character and land use of surrounding areas.
Guidelines will be developed for all eight downtown districts identified in the DARP plan.
Planning consultants ParioPlan will make a presentation and lead the design charette exercise with representatives from the City of Lacombe in attendance.
The event runs July 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the County Room of the Lacombe Memorial Centre.
