Residents lined the streets of Lacombe on Jan. 29, 2022 in support of ending COVID-19 mandates.
Rally organizers said it’s a show of support for drivers and a way to protest the COVID-19 vaccine mandates that came into effect on Jan. 15, for truckers that cross the Canada-U.S. border.
In other parts of the country and Alberta, organized freedom rallies were organized for the same day, including a convoy from Calgary to Edmonton.
A group left British Columbia on the Jan. 22 weekend, and have been joined by other supporters and drivers from across Canada before arriving in the capital on Jan. 29.
