Lacombe’s Track on 2 is continuing its busy season with an intimate concert with Red Deer-based country artist Ryan Lindsay and special guest Hailey Benedict on Aug. 28, 2021.

The concert is just the latest in a series of events hosted at the event centre, including dance recitals, weddings, the Legend of George Jones concert, and the Stillhouse Songwriter sessions.

“We’ve had a very busy season,” said Kyla Belich, director of marketing and events.

Starting the afternoon off will be horse racing beginning at 3 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m.

Admission to the track to watch the races is free of charge.

The cost of the dinner will be $27 per adult and $16 for youth 12 and under. Tickets for the buffet must be pre-purchased by Aug. 26 via the Track on 2’s Eventbrite link, which can be found on the bottom of the track’s website page, thetrackon2.com.

After the supper concludes, Lindsay and Benedict will take the stage around 7 p.m.

“We’re doing an intimate style of show,” said Lindsay. “We’re going to strip it down a little bit — spend some time diving into the stories behind the songs. We might even do some new music to give people a taste of what is coming up.”

Tickets for Lindsay’s show are available for pre-purchase through the ticketing website Showpass and cost $30 per person. While advance ticket purchase is preferred, according to Lindsay some tickets will be available at the door.

“If people can get at it, it’s probably best,” said Lindsay.

People can take in one, two, or all three events going on Aug. 28.
