Board Meeting Highlights – March 2022

Capital plan

The board approved priorities of the 2022-2023 Capital Plan in the following order:

1 - Beaumont High School

2 - St. Benedict School (modernization)

3 - Sacred Heart School (modernization/high School)

4 - Christ the King School (modernization)

5 - St. Anthony School (modernization)

6 - École Notre Dame School (modernization)

Graduation mass intentions

The board approved special mass intentions and recognition of division high school graduates, with a maximum $100 donation to the local parish per graduation class, for the 2021-2022 school year.

Education and transportation fees

As the finance committee did not determine a need to change or increase educational and transportation fees at this time, the Board moved to maintain school fees as presented for the 20222023 school year.

Facility usage fees

The board approved the facility fee rates as presented for the 2022-2023 school year with the addition of a standard fee for additional caretaking.

Locally developed course

The Board authorized a competencies in math 15 course for STAR Catholic outreach summer school.

Excellence in Catholic education award

The board congratulated Bailey St. Jean from École Notre Dame School who is the Division’s recipient of this year’s Excellence in Catholic Education Award.

The next board meeting is April 20 at 1 p.m. at the STAR Central Office in Leduc. The public is welcome to stream all Board meetings.
