Stolen property recovered following Blackfalds investigation

Stolen property has been recovered following an ongoing investigation in central Alberta.

Stolen property has been recovered following an ongoing investigation in central Alberta.

On Nov. 13, 2021 Blackfalds General Investigation Section (GIS) executed two search warrants at residences in Blackfalds and Red Deer County and one search warrant at a business in Red Deer County.

As a result of this investigation, Blackfalds GIS recovered a variety of stolen property, including a dump trailer, travel trailer, four snowmobiles and a gooseneck flat deck trailer and a pickup truck that both had the VIN’s tampered with.

The estimated value of this recovered property is over $60,000. Blackfalds RCMP have made efforts to contact all owners of the property that was recovered.

Back in October of 2021, Blackfalds RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) along with the assistance of the Red Deer Crime Reduction Team, RCMP Air Services and the Alberta RCMP Auto Theft Unit, entered into a property crime investigation in the Blackfalds area.

On Nov. 12, 2021, following further investigation, Blackfalds GIS arrested a male in possession of stolen property at a residence in Blackfalds.

Shawn Everett Bullerwell (44) from Red Deer, Alta. was charged with the following 16 offences:

· Operation of motor vehicle while prohibited (x4)

· Break and enter commit theft

· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (x5)

· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x5)

· Alter, destroy, remove vehicle identification number

Bullerwell was also arrested on three outstanding warrants on unrelated matters out of Sylvan Lake and Lacombe, Alta.

Bullerwell was released from custody and he is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Jan. 28, 2022.
