Dr. Wilford Tetz

Dr. Wilford C. Tetz of Lacombe, Alberta passed away August 19, 2021 at the age of 97 years. Dr. Tetz was born in Bowness, Alberta on September 28, 1923. He received his medical training at Loma Linda University School of Medicine graduating in 1952.
He interned at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, working with some of the giants in Alberta medicine, including Walter C. McKenzie. He also received a Master of Public Health degree from Loma Linda in 1978.
Dr. Tetz served the Lacombe and Alex areas for over 45 years as a family doctor often caring for several generations of the same family. He served as Chief of Staff at the Lacombe Hospital, was a long-time member of the Lacombe Flying Club and supported the health and education of the Lacombe community in many ways throughout his lifetime.
Dr. Tetz is survived by Anne, his wife of 75 years; and five children, Beverly How, (Fred) Redlands, California, Carol Rick, (Glen) Aldergrove, British Columbia, Jim (Shirley) Lacombe Alberta, Gerry, (Karen) Portland Oregon, Jack (Cindy) Stony Plain, Alberta; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his youngest son Doug (Deborah).
A Celebration of Life for Dr. Tetz will be held on Sunday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the College Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church with a reception following in the Lacombe Memorial Centre.
